terrific Jack -- years ago I found some beautiful pottery shards at The Enchanted Mesa across from Sky City. It was a beautiful Autumn Eve, me and some wild horses. That night The Acoma were having a kachina ceremony on their mesa -- great memory. L/F

Lovely work Jack. I see you have some new paintings since I last visited. They're great. I finished my red Hummer golf cart painting. It needs to dry a little more before I can take a picture and upload, but I hope you'll take a look and let me know what you think.

Artist's Description

About Jack Atkins

Jack Atkins

Jack Atkins paints the southwest’s intense desert light, its spectacular vistas, and the people and things that create its sense of place. He has been fascinated with its culture and traditions since he was a teenager in Taos, New Mexico, a place that influenced him with how strongly it emphasizes and values art and artists. Now the paintings of this fourth-generation New Mexican use vivid colors and dramatic compositions to tell the story of this area’s underlying sense of drama and history. Jack’s paintings are in a contemporary realist style, usually focusing on southwestern themes, especially those related to regional culture and traditions.
